The General Nurse Midwifery (GNM) course is a diploma program designed to educate nursing candidates to work efficiently as part of the healthcare delivery system. It emphasises the care of individuals, families, and communities through a wide range of subjects including anatomy, physiology, psychology, microbiology, and specific nursing practices related to medical, surgical, pediatric, and obstetric care.
Practical training is a crucial part of the GNM program, providing hands-on experience in hospitals and healthcare settings. Graduates can register as Registered Nurses and Midwives (RNM) with the State Nurse Registration Council (SNRC) and are qualified to work in hospitals, community health centres, private clinics, and schools.
Intermediate (10+2) with Science (PCBE). Minimum marks required: 40%.
English is compulsory in Intermediate.
Age: 17–35 years on 31st December in the year of admission.
